Are you tired of spending a fortune on camping gear, or want to start your wild camping career yet don't have the funds to buy expensive gear? The Mountain Warehouse Backpacker Lightweight 2-man Tent is here to provide you with a budget-friendly option without compromising quality. This innovative tent is designed to withstand the elements and provide a comfortable camping experience. In this article, I will take a closer look at the key features of the Mountain Warehouse Backpacker Lightweight 2-Man Tent. I'll cover its pros and cons, setting up the tent, key features, and specifications. By the end of this guide, you'll have all the information you need to decide if this tent is the right fit for you. I was kindly gifted this tent and asked to provide an honest review.

Note: I do not agree with brands referring to tents as '2-man', etc; I really feel that they should be 2-person in this day and age. I will take up this issue with Mountain Warehouse; however, for the purposes of the article and its SEO, the tent will be referred to as a 2-man! This will now become my mission to get it changed.

Pros and Cons of the Tent

Let's examine its pros and cons:

 Pros

  • Budget-friendly option: Currently only £64.99! The Mountain Warehouse Backpacker Lightweight 2-Man Tent is affordable for budget-conscious campers. It's priced lower than many other 2-man tents on the market, making it an excellent option for those who don't want to break the bank.

  • Lightweight and compact: The tent is designed to be light and compact, making it easy to carry on backpacking trips. It weighs only 2kg, and the packed size is 51cm x 13cm x 13cm, which is small enough to fit in any backpack.

  • Really easy to set up: The tent is designed for easy setup, with colour-coded poles and clips that make it easy to assemble. It can be set up in minutes. The poles are colour-coded, so you can easily match them to the corresponding pole sleeves on the tent.

  • Waterproof: The tent is designed to withstand rain and moisture, with a waterproof rating of 2000mm. It can withstand moderate rainfall without letting water seep inside the tent.

  • Spacious interior: The tent is designed to comfortably fit two people, with a spacious interior that can accommodate two sleeping bags and other gear. Its pitched Dimensions are 230cm (L) x 85cm (H) x 220cm (W). Having a door on each side makes it perfect for two people. It is small but could fit two people in there.

Cons

  • Limited headroom: The tent has limited headroom, which could be uncomfortable for taller individuals.

  • I found it quite strange that the internal doors had an additional non-mesh panel on the inside, and I can't figure out the reason for this. Plus, it makes keeping the doors open a bit flappy, and you don't get the perfect view (you can see this in the photo at the top). Just the mesh panel would be great.

  • Not suitable for extreme weather conditions: While the tent is designed to withstand moderate rainfall, it may not suit extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain or strong winds.

  • Not suitable for long-term camping: The tent is designed for weekend camping trips or short-term use.

  • The tent only comes with 10 pegs, and to ensure a stable pitch, it ideally needs 12, so unsure why it comes with less. Surely this cannot add too much more weight or cost?
